Résumé : | This research explores social work practice in British family centers which are developing strategies to promote parent participation and empowerment. This change in practice is in part a result of the 1989 Children Act which requires an increase in preventive and cooperative services. Families and workers trace the steps whereby parents become both service users and providers. Workers leave behind some traditional casework methods and build new interactive approaches, focussing on family strengths and collaboration. |
