Résumé :

[BDSP. Notice produite par INIST 2jR0xRku. Diffusion soumise à autorisation]. According to the current directives concerning biological agents in the workplace, every employer should offer personnel hepatitis B vaccination when there is an increased risk of contracting this infection. It is well known that the prevalence of hepatitis B among detainees is higher than in the general population. This article gives an overview of published information on the prevalence of hepatitis B in prison personnel. Research on the subject is limited and usually only occurs as a spin-off of similar studies among detainees. As regards methodology, a few comments can be made about most of the studies. The results of the different studies vary and do not allow unequivocal conclusions to be drawn regarding the possible risk to prison personnel of infection with hepatitis B in the working environment. Further research in this area is, therefore, essential.
