[BDSP. Notice produite par INIST R0xJg0zG. Diffusion soumise à autorisation]. The objectives of this research were to learn if and to what extent there have been sexual behavior changes in a secondary European AIDS epicenter between 1989-1993. To this end we used data sets from two general, independent investigations completed in 1989 and in 1993 on the subject of gay life and culture in Flanders, Belgium. Multivariate covariance analysis of independent samples was employed to compare the data sets on anal insertive and receptive sex both with and without condoms, and on insertive and receptive fellatio. From 1989 to 1993 the level of protected insertive and receptive anal intercourse changed favorably. There also was a general increase in the practice of fellatio. Although unprotected insertive anal sex did not decline overall, there was a decrease in that practice among men with steady partners. These men also restricted this form of high-risk sex almost exclusively to their steady partners. Along with a general increase in fellatio, there was an incremental change in both insertive and receptive fellatio among men with no steady partners.
