Résumé :

Interest in wastewater reuse has continued to grow in many parts of the world as demand for water increases and agriculture, industry and public seek dependability of water supply even in drought years. As a result of developpments in pollution control and water treatment, effluents can now be treated to provide an economic water supply, especially when compared to the increasing expense of developing new sources of water. Well over 100 papers including six state-of-the-art plenary papers were presented at the 2nd Reuse conference, attended by experts from over 35 countries. Fifty of these papers have been selected for these proceedings. They cover reuse planning, public health and environmental considerations, reuse applications, and water quality and regulatory issues. They arguably provide the best collection of reports on the work that is making water reuse such an important area today, and will be an essential reference for scientists, engineers, planners and policy-makers.
