| Résumé : | Across Europe and beyond, mayors, local officials, and urban practitioners are increasingly confronted with complex realities that cannot be addressed through traditional public health or environmental lenses alone. Faced with this complexity, the One Health approach has become vital for cities where policies directly influence the daily lives of people, the presence of urban biodiversity, and the conditions of shared spaces. Through experimentation, cross-sector dialogue, and community involvement, urban authorities can make the concept mature and practical. The work of the One Health 4 Cities partnership demonstrates that European cities are ready to take this leap. By sharing methods, tools, and lessons from a wide variety of contexts, this network has shown that there is no universal pathway but there is a shared ambition: to build cities that protect and enhance the health of all forms of life. The Essential Guidebook for City Makers is a practical tool designed to help urban leaders, planners, and stakeholders integrate One Health approaches into their practices. The guidebook is packed with tips, tools, and case studies to guide you. |
