Résumé :

[BDSP. Notice produite par INIST R0xkNptX. Diffusion soumise à autorisation]. A multidisciplinary approach in caring for heroin users in a semi-rural area is presented, based on 10 years of experience. Treatment is formulated in a multidisciplinary intervision group, consisting of GP's, social workers and categorical care-givers. The GP's have a mandate for this work from their peers. Treatment essentially is based on psychosocial counseling and occasional drug treatment. Treatment results as well as the effect on care-givers themselves are evaluated. In a non-selected group of heroin users, 7 years after the start of the registration, nine of the 35 patients are clean for more than 1 year and 3 are dead. The multidisciplinary approach can be used to built a methadone maintenance project. Such a project however has to be small scaled and intensively monitored. Intervision can form a major aspect of a continuing quality control process in caring for heroin users.
